What we're building

Want is a reverse marketplace: buyers post what they need, sellers come to them. Here's what already works, what we're finishing this quarter, and where we're taking it next. Dates are deliberately absent — we ship when it's good, not when a slide says we should.

Shipped in v1

Live in production on the web and in the iOS app today.

  • Reverse marketplace: post what you want, sellers respond with offers

  • Full category tree — 25 top-level categories, 200+ subcategories

  • Text-only messaging with real-time updates

  • Offer system with a single round of counter-offers

  • Rating system — post-fulfillment, 14-day window

  • Mark fulfilled, renew for another 30 days, or close a want early

  • $0.99 posting fee via Stripe on the web and Apple IAP on iOS

  • No-refund policy with clear disclosure and required opt-in at checkout

  • Prohibited-content filter covering 200+ terms

  • US-only geo-gate at launch

  • Report and block on every listing and every message

  • 3-unique-reporter auto-hide to keep the feed clean without waiting on us

  • Verified badge — email plus Apple or Google sign-in

  • Native iOS app and web app on a shared backend

Next up (v2)

Queued for the second major release. Priorities can shift based on what buyers and sellers actually need.

    Get pinged the moment a matching want is posted.

  • Photo attachments on offers and messages

  • In-app payments with optional escrow

    Opt-in protection for both sides — sales still happen off-platform by default.

  • Buyer and seller verification levels

    ID verification unlocks high-value wants.

  • Search suggestions and category discovery

  • Public seller profiles with verified inventory hints

  • Location-radius search

  • Multiple photos per want (currently 1 optional)

  • Bulk-import for power sellers

    Paste eBay or Amazon URLs to auto-catalog what you can source.

Bigger bets that come after v2 lands and stabilizes.
