About

Want is the reverse marketplace.

Post what you want; sellers come to you. That's the whole idea. Instead of scrolling through what sellers happen to be listing, you tell the world what you're looking for and let the people who have it find you.

Why we built it

eBay, Craigslist, and Marketplace all work the same way: sellers list, buyers hunt. If you're after something specific — a particular used lens, a mid-century credenza, a plumber who can come Saturday — you burn hours refreshing feeds, tweaking filters, and waiting for the right listing to appear.

Want flips the arrow. You spend a minute describing what you need, you pay ninety-nine cents to publish, and for the next thirty days your want sits on a public board that sellers, resellers, and hobbyists scan for buyers like you. When someone has a match, they message you directly. You decide who to talk to.

How Want makes money

One line: a flat $0.99 fee to publish a want. That's the entire business model.

  • No cut of the sale.
  • No listing commission.
  • No hidden renewals, no auto-charging subscriptions.
  • No premium seller tiers, no promoted-listing surcharges, no “featured” upsells.

When the deal happens, it happens between you and the seller — cash, Venmo, Zelle, wire, whatever you agree on. Want never sees the money. See the full fee policy at /legal/fees.

What Want is not

We're a bulletin board with a category tree and a messaging system on top. We are not an auction house, an escrow service, a payment processor, a shipping label vendor, a warranty provider, or a guarantee of any kind. We don't inspect goods, verify sellers beyond a signed-in profile, or hold funds. If your deal needs any of that, arrange it with the other party.

Trust and safety

Every listing and every message has a Report and Block control. Prohibited content — weapons, drugs, counterfeits, stolen goods, adult material, and the rest of the list — is filtered at submission and removed on report. Read the full policy at /legal/community and /legal/prohibited. For in-person meetups, use a public place and bring a friend.

Who runs it

Want is operated by CREED SERVICES, LLC, a US-registered limited liability company. We're a small, independent team — no venture capital, no growth-at-all-costs mandate, no advertising deals influencing what shows up on your board. Reach us any time at /contact.

Post a want and see how it works.

Ninety-nine cents, thirty days on the board, real replies from real people.
